Aim: To enhance competences of Naples Hospital
A.Cardarelli (Italy) and Tunis Hospital C.Nicolle (Tunisia)
Physicians, through a Blended Learning Project of
Continuing Medical Education.
Summary of work: Activities on medical areas were
delineated, supported by a technological platform for
medical education in Italian, English and French. After a technological startup, activities were performed as follows:
- pre-residential eLearning programme (multimedia
courses created by medical supervisors of both Hospitals);
- residential programme (Tunisians and Italian groups
shared competences and participated in didactic activities);
- post-residential follow-up eLearning programme;
- final residential program.
Summary of results: More than 150 Physicians of both
hospitals participated in 21 educational activities,
structured in 42 formative actions, for a total of 84
residential and 42 eLearning courses. The courses gained
>2.000 accesses, the project’s portal www.italiatunisia.com
registered >25.000 contacts.
Conclusions: The project allowed Continuous Medical
Collaboration between the two Countries, strengthening
mutual cultural exchange and practical collaboration.
Technology and eLearning materials allow future formative
exchange beyond this project and the sharing of acquired
competencies with other local physicians. Because of its
technical nature, the contents and the online distribution
of the project have created several opportunities to spread
the program to other countries.
